Facundo Posadas
Facundo Posadas’ [Class Schedule] [Event Calendar]

New York resident, Facundo Posadas and partner Ching-Ping join Dance Manhattan as Tango Guest artists for the first time in June 2011. His dance performance background covers a breadth of Latin dances from Candombe to Argentine Tango.
FACUNDO POSADAS, MAESTRO DE TANGO
You might say that Facundo has tango in his blood. He is the grandson of Don Carlos Posadas, author of more than40 tangos, many of them played by the orchestras of A. Troilo, C. di Sarli, and H. Salgan.
He started dancing the Candombe, the popular dance in black communities, when he was three and by the age of thirteen was already proficient in the dances of the time. He started dancing professionally by 18 and his career spanned from latin dances all the way to swing dancing, having performed with the likes of Count Basie and today's most exciting big band, the George Gee Swing Orchestra.
His participation in Tango around the world has included Folie Tango Festival (1997 & toured with them for 7 years), Encuentro con los Grandes Festival (Madrid, 1998), Reno Festival (Nevada), Hamburg Festival (Germany), International Congress of Argentine Tango (5 years), and Miami Tango Fantasy Festival (8 years).
Facundo says "There are many highlights in my life and in my dancing but one of the most memorable moments is dancing in a show with Mikhail Baryshnikov in NYC in 2007."
CHING-PING PENG
Born in Taiwan, she earned a degree in dance from the Chinese Culture University in Taipei and performed with the famed Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, Asia's leading contemporary dance troupe.
Trained in classic Chinese dance technique, Ching-Ping is also adept in the marshal arts, Chinese Opera movement, modern dance and ballet.
In 2007 she fell in love with Argentine Tango and immediately abandoned a 5-continent career in Chinese dance. She began intensive studies with Facundo, who made her his professional dance partner in 2010 and with whom she now performs and teaches all over the US.
